Commentary
What you wear often determines who you know, and who knows you. It can affect how you are treated, and how you treat others. Your mood, and total "begin" can be affected by how you precieve yourself, which is often affected by how others view your outward appearance. Enjoy this page, it commentary, articles, and enter the world of high, and low fashion.

"Secret" - held at LeQueen nightclub on the Champs Elysees - is the new place to be Wednesday evenings in Paris between midnight and 3am - or so they say, anyway. If you have a nine-to-five day job and are consequently unable to make an appearance at the soiree, which features the talented Ivan Smagghe and Dimitri from Paris, fear not - this night is a dud! Although appreciation must be directed towards the gang of organizers (who were also responsible for the famous series of "Respect" events at the same club) for their effective use of cyber contact (emailing updates and last-minute reviews), this is just another claustrophobic club session with not enough room on the dance floor and nowhere near enough comfort for VIPs (such as ourselves)!
MAKE MINE PURPLE
Herein lies six reasons to regularly invest in Purple magazine, which is quite possibly one of the hottest masterpieces I've seen sitting on a newsagent stand in a long, long time:
1. Elein Fleiss (Editor-in-Chief and Publisher) is something of a national hero in Paris, and, after five minutes of looking through the epic Summer 00 issue, its no wonder.
2. Fredie Stevens by Bianca Pilet: Because yellow leather shoes under a tapestry print look cool and there will be no prizes for guessing who the new up-and-coming photographer in Paris is after witnessing this six-page tribute to Stevens's new shoe collection.
3. Spring/Summer 00 by Mark Borthwick and Chloe Sevigny: Pages 86-126 are entirely devoted to combining classics such as Andre Walker and Callaghan with hot new creations by Seth Shapiro and United Bamboo. Beautiful!
4. Helmut Lang by Lodge Kerrigan: Lifestyle-esque portrayals featuring the one and only Jane Bradberry from Elite.
5. Lightning by Maria Finn (drawings): If you like Mike Mills and Tristan Galdos Del Carpios, then we'll bet you afternoon tea at the Ritz that you'll adore these illustrations.
6. Purple Prose: Antonio Allegri Da Correggio by Herwig Kempinger: A fan's admiration of a painting in no less than 500 words - simple and straight to the point (just the way we like it)!

FREUD GETS FUNKY
The collaboration between actor/director John Malkovich and designer darling of the British fashion scene, Bella Freud, went down in history last year as evidence of how utterly brilliant the amalgamation between the fashion and film worlds really can be. Maintaining one's appreciation for Freud and her modern-day take on fashion and femininity, we at Fashion Net can't wait to discover the wonders of her forthcoming work for Kangol, the 62-year-old British company which has become famous for placing its super-cool berets on the world's most famous heads. Along with fellow fashion colleagues Katharine Hamnett, Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen, Freud was recently recruited by Kangol to put her signature style on a a couture line to be produced by the world-renowned brand.
SPINDLER INSPIRES ONCE AGAIN
All step forth and hail Amy M. Spindler! Placed at the helm of "Fashions of the Times", the New York Times Magazine's seasonal supplement, Spindler's stroke of genius prompts us to declare that if every city had a publication with as much razzle, dazzle and cutting-edge pizzazz as this, the fashion world would be a more exciting place work within. For the second spring issue of the year, in an ode to Gena Rowlands and John Cassavetes, model Annie Morton and photographer Terry Richardson successfully enhanced their quest of respect to the masterpiece flick, "A Woman Under The Influence" upon the cover. Acclaim must also be directed towards Anne Christensen and Mimi Lombardo, whose distinctive styling interpretations throughout the publication rarely fail to inspire and educate those with a passion for fashion and a knack for tack. Pages 114-119 take the cake, however, as Amy Calabrese questions everyone from Richard Tyler to Jean-Paul Gaultier on which films most inspire them.
